IMPORTANT: There are two conditions for moving to the next registration deadline: the date and the limit on the number of registrations for each deadline. If the spots for a specific registration period are sold out before the deadline for this registration period, prices increase before the deadline. If not, prices remain the same until the end of this registration period.
*On-the-day registrations will only be possible if a specific distance is not fully booked.
*In the case of booking bus transport to the start, an additional fee of 15 EUR is mandatory (for distances of 50 km, 80 km, and 120 km).
**All prices are in euros (EUR) and include VAT.
***An additional 8% fee for the Njuko registration system will be applied to the registration price. Administrative costs are non-refundable in case of cancellation (cancellation and refund policies are outlined below).
Group Registration
Minimum number of runners: 5
- For distances of 10, 15, and 25 km, the price per participant is 15% lower than the individual registration fee.
- For distances of 50, 80, and 120 km, the price per participant is 10% lower than the individual registration fee.

Registration Fee covers services and gifts that await runners for the Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB experience:
- Start pack gift for all distances
- Finisher medal for all the runners who conquer the trails and pass through the finish
- Unique trophy for the best ones in each distance who will be awarded at the prize giving ceremony
- Organization of the races with all the services provided on the course (food and drinks on the aid station, timing services, medical service, transportation in case of dropping out from the race
- Resting room after the race
- Hot meal after the race to recover faster
- Registration and expo services on site with all other locations set-up
- Drop bag services from starts and aid stations, depending of the race
REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION
You will automatically receive a registration confirmation e-mail from our registration partner. Your age group category for the event you registered for will be reflective of your age as of December 31 of the event year.
Your name, and the names of other starters, is searchable via the Runner Start List or on UTMB Live prior to your race. Online registrations are synced to our database within 24 hours. You can login to check your registration status, below:
Sales period
Registration will be open to the runners with a valid UTMB index from 16 December 2025 onwards.
From 18 December 2025 onwards, registrations will be open to runners with or without valid UTMB index until 5 September 2025 until midnight or until the races are sold out.
Entries will be made exclusively on the internet and payment will be made by credit card. Registration on the day of the event will only be possible if the distance is not fully occupied. There will be no waiting list.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: The registration fee, amounting to 8%, is not included in the listed price.
Additionally, keep in mind that for distances of 50km, 80km, and 120km, there is an extra fee of €15 for the bus transfer from Kranjska Gora to the starting point. Please be aware that there is no bus service available from the finish line back to the starting point.

TRANSFER OF REGISTRATION TO ANOTHER PERSON
Registration is personal; however, we allow transferring a registration to another runner if the original registrant cannot attend the race. Transfers are possible until August 18, 2025, provided the new runner meets the registration criteria.
Important: A transfer fee of 20 EUR applies.
- The new runner must register through the registration form using their UTMB profile.
- The original registrant’s registration will be canceled, and the registration fee will be refunded, reduced by 20 EUR*. Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days. The transfer fee will be automatically deducted from the refunded amount.
- For instructions and to manage the transfer, runners can contact registration@trailrun.si.
After August 18, 2025, changes will only be possible on-site at the event in Kranjska Gora (Vitranc Hall) for an additional fee of 20 EUR.
*This applies only if the runner did not purchase insurance during registration. Those who purchased insurance must handle refunds through the system, as this transfer process does not apply to them. Insured runners are entitled to a 100% refund for valid reasons specified in the insurance policy. The insurance premium is non-refundable.
CHANGE OF DISTANCE
Transferring to a shorter distance is possible until August 18, 2025, subject to availability in the selected distance. In this case, no refund for the price difference will be issued. The runner should contact the organizer at registration@trailrun.si
It is also possible to request a transfer to a longer distance; however, the request will not be automatically accepted and will be decided upon by the race director. Transfers to a longer distance are only possible if spots are available.
Runners can make the distance change themselves (they will receive access to their profile in the email confirmation, where they can edit the change).
After August 18, 2025, changes will only be possible on-site at the event for an additional fee of 15 EUR (in the case of transferring to a longer distance, the difference in registration fees will also apply).
IMPORTANT: Transfers to the 2026 event are not possible.
Insured Registrations
Registration insurance for the event in case of inability to participate can only be purchased during registration. The insurance allows the runner a 100% refund of the entry fee if they cannot attend the race (with appropriate documentation) due to any of the following reasons:
- Illness, accident, injury, chronic health issues
- Public/private transport failure
- Theft of documents, legal summons
- Etc.
Runners can submit a refund claim through their UTMB profile. Runners will communicate directly with the insurance company.
Uninsured Registrations
Participants who cannot attend the event due to health reasons and have already paid the entry fee can request a partial refund by contacting registration@trailrun.si. The runner must submit an official medical document (e.g., certificate, doctor's note, etc.) with the refund request.
Refunds are as follows:
- Until May 1, 2025: 60%
- Until August 1, 2025: 30%
- After August 1, 2025: No refunds, regardless of the reason the runner cannot attend the event. If the runner does not attend the event, they forfeit the race packet and all other benefits offered to participants, regardless of the reason.
Event Cancellation in Extraordinary Circumstances
In the event of race cancellation due to extraordinary circumstances, the organizer guarantees a refund of the entry fee if the event is prohibited or cannot be held due to exceptional circumstances, as follows:
- Cancellation 4 months before the event: 90% refund
- Cancellation 2 months before the event: 70% refund and a 20% discount for the following year
- Cancellation 14 days before the event: 60% refund and a 20% discount for the following year
- Cancellation less than 14 days before the event: No refunds.
In case of event cancellation, the organizer will also offer the option to transfer the entry fee to the 2026 event.
To award high-level athletes fair recognition and ensure fair management of applications, we have specially reserved spots for elite athletes based on their UTMB index for the selected distance. Elite runners must apply during the registration period. Applications will not be accepted after the registration period has ended.
When the distance is sold out, the event organizer reserves the right to refuse the application of an elite runner.

Free registrations for elite runners cannot be guaranteed in the following circumstances and are subject to the race director's discretion:
- For races that are sold out,
- After the registration period has ended,
- Less than 30 days before the event.
Media representatives, influential athletes, or individuals with a large following on social media who believe their participation could add value to JATR by UTMB can send their application and request for participation to info@trailrun.si.

Do I need a medical certificate to participate in the race?
A medical certificate is not required for participation. Everyone competes at their own risk.
In the ongoing effort of UTMB to increase and encourage women participation in trail running, UTMB has implemented a new pregnancy policy across all by UTMB events.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR DEFERRAL?
- Athletes that are pregnant.
- Athletes with a partner that is pregnant.
- Athletes that are adopting or birthing via surrogacy.
CONDITIONS FOR DEFERRAL
The organizer will provide a full refund or a deferred entry to the same race (or a category below) valid for up to 2 years to runners meeting one of the conditions listed here under and able to present the proof:
- A woman whose pregnancy is known between the date of registration and the date of the race, when able to present the proof of the pregnancy.
- The partner of a woman who is pregnant, with a due date less than 3 months before, and no more than 3 months after, the race date. Partners are also required to present proof of relationship or residence with the women who is pregnant.
- Parents that can provide an adopting or birth certificate with an official date of less than 6 months before the race day.
Athletes should request the event organizer in writing to use their priority or deferred entry for the year they plan to compete as early as possible. The deadline for requests is before the end of the race registration. For events that require a valid UTMB Index, athletes must ensure their index is valid at the time they choose to participate in the race.
This policy is not applicable if the pregnancy was known before registration.
UTMB reserves the right to request additional verification of the relevant circumstances and may deny a deferral request if the documentation provided is deemed insufficient.

In the ongoing effort of UTMB to increase and encourage the participation of adaptive athletes in trail running, UTMB has implemented a new adaptive athlete policy across all UTMB World Series events.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
This policy will apply to athletes in the adaptive athlete open division. Participation in the Adaptive Athlete Open Division is available to athletes with the following disabilities:
Visual Impairment:
Athletes with a medically verified visual impairment that meets the following criteria:
- Visual acuity of 20/200 (6/60 meters) or less in the better-seeing eye with best conventional correction.
- Visual field (the total area an individual can see without moving the eyes from side to side) of 20 degrees or less (also called tunnel vision) in the better-seeing eye.
Intellectual Disability (ID):
Athletes with an intellectual disability (as defined by the American Association of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) that meets the following criteria:
- IQ below 70-75.
- Significant limitations in adaptive behaviour, including communication, social, and self-care skills.
- The condition originates before the age of 22.
- Athletes with an Intellectual Disability should be registered athletes with Special Olympics, a current registered athlete with a Virtus National Member Organization, or a similar organization.
Physical or Neurological Movement Impairment:
Athletes with a medically verified physical or neurological movement impairment that substantially limits one or more major life daily activities.
Athletes with other miscellaneous medical conditions, such as intolerance to temperature extremes, organ transplants, joint replacements (endoprosthetics), kidney dialysis, hearing impairments, and cognitive impairments (except for individuals with an intellectual disability), are not eligible to participate in the Adaptive Athlete Open Division.
ADAPTIVE ATHLETE OPEN DIVISION REGISTRATION
Athletes are required to fill out the "Adaptive athlete open division" form and send it to the race organizers for approval. This process is mandatory to benefit from the adaptive athlete policy.
GUIDE RUNNER POLICY
All adaptive athletes are allocated an extra bib number, free of charge, for a guide runner to accompany them on all or parts of their race.
Conditions and requirements:
- The adaptive athlete must be able to self-propel themselves the entire distance of the course within the official time limits.
- Guide runners do not have to be of the same gender as the adaptive athlete.
- Securing the guide is the responsibility of the adaptive athlete. You must contact the race organization prior to the end of the registration period to confirm your guide runner.
- Athletes that have a visual impairment or intellectual disability are required to have a guide for the duration of the event.
- An elbow lead tether is required during night for athletes that have a visual impairment.
- Guide runners must have a valid UTMB Index for races that require one to ensure sufficient performance level.
- The runner and their guide runner must each carry their own mandatory kit. The guide runner is only able to help carry extra equipment necessary for the athlete and morally support their athlete. No other outside help or assistance is tolerated. All other race regulations are applicable.
- Each adaptive athlete is allowed to have one guide runner. Athletes may contact the organization if they feel they need other support or help.
- The guide runner will not be awarded a UTMB Index or any running stones for their participation.
- For athletes with a physical impairment, their guide runner can only enter/exit the race at the start and finish line and aid stations. Athletes are required to inform the race organisation if their guide runner will not be running the entire race with them.
This policy is a first step in ensuring better opportunities for inclusion and equal access for all athletes. In addition to this policy, we are actively working to address the unique needs of our adaptive athletes during and around our events. We remain committed to reviewing and refining this policy over time, making necessary modifications or additions in consultation with the athlete community and our organization's stakeholders.
We believe that trail running can make a positive contribution to the preservation of the environment and educate the public about the need to consider the impact of our activities on the planet. Our sport has a unique power to drive wider social change that prioritizes sustainable development so that the beauty of our nature can be enjoyed by future generations.
Each of us can help make the event friendly to the environment in which it takes place. With our activities we try to spread green awareness and be an example of good practice.
By registering and participating at Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB, runners commit to:
- respect the rules of behaviour in protected areas,
- use the prescribed mandatory equipment for their own safety,
- not dispose waste, walk or run outside the marked paths, pick flowers,
- separate waste, drink water from the tap, save natural resources,
- respect wild animals,
- respect the local environment and local population,
- and encourage others to do the same.
Organizers of Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB are aware that the event's sustainability policy is key to its long-term development and proper integration into the local community. We want to work for the good of the natural environment, in which the event takes place, and the local community. We try to spread green awareness among all event participants. Only with common action will we be able to continue enjoying the wonderful nature and unforgettable trails.
In the process of organizing and implementing the event, we follow the guidelines of sustainable sports events and ensure that the event is developed with the motto of responsible business, which minimizes negative impacts on nature and the social environment as well as preserves and highlights the peculiarities of the natural and social environment in which it takes place.
In the organization and execution of the Julian Alps Trail Run by UTMB, we pursue the following guidelines:
- We respect the conditions defined by environmental legislation in Slovenia and the carrying capacity of the space.
- The race starts take place in destinations that have committed themselves to the sustainable development of tourism.
- We monitor the impacts of our activities on the environment and introduce measures to reduce these impacts.
- We actively work to involve local communities, follow interests of the local population and develop the event in a way that brings positive results for everyone. Wherever possible, we work with local providers.
- Visitors and partners are encouraged to have a respectful and responsible attitude towards the natural and social environment. We inform them of our efforts and encourage their cooperation and support.
- Every year we prepare a plan of measures to be implemented. We believe in the policy of small and manageable steps, which we will build on year after year.
- The entire organizing team and all those who help in the implementation of the event are familiar with the sustainability policy, goals and measures.
We upgrade sustainable practices every year with small steps. We are committed to continuously improving the sustainability of our event, and we encourage our visitors to do the same. In addition to preserving the natural environment, our mission is also the promotion of the development of a healthy and inclusive society, and the support to the local community and economy.
